Ediel

The Nordic standard for message exchange in the power market. In Norway it now means Elhub's XML messages, in Sweden it is still EDIFACT.

Ediel is the standard market participants use to exchange messages with each other and with the national hubs: grid companies, power suppliers, balance responsible parties and ElhubNational hub for metering data and market processes in the Norwegian electricity market.. In Norway it is now maintained by Elhub, which calls its documentation the "Ediel standard". The market processes are set out in the BRSElhub’s process specifications. Each BRS describes one market process step by step - who sends what, when, and what happens when something fails. documents, and the messages are XMLExtensible Markup Language - universal markup language for structured data, standard in Elhub's Ediel messages. described in Elhub's information model (BIM), which builds on ebIX, the European forum for message standards in the energy market. The messages are sent over SOAPSimple Object Access Protocol - XML-based messaging protocol used in enterprise integrations, including Elhub.. In Sweden, which does not yet have a central hub, Ediel messages still go directly between market participants in EDIFACTUN standard for electronic data interchange. In the power market it is used where messages go directly between market participants, and in systems that predate the national hubs.. The same name does not mean the same format, and that is worth knowing when a system says it "supports Ediel".
