UN standard for electronic data interchange. In the power market it is used where messages go directly between market participants, and in systems that predate the national hubs.

In the power market, EDIFACT is used where messages go directly between market participants without a central hub, for example in Sweden. It is not used towards ElhubNational hub for metering data and market processes in the Norwegian electricity market.: Elhub's messages are XMLExtensible Markup Language - universal markup language for structured data, standard in Elhub's Ediel messages..
